Chiguru 2013 by YFS Bangalore

Awesome some day at Chiguru. Kids have so much talent. They can create wonders if they get proper guidance. Volunteers from youth for seva did tremendous job in guiding kids from neglected government schools and result is superb. They did wonders in clay art at very young age, rangoli, role-play, dancing, drawing, painting, yoga, science experiments.
This proves everyone has equal talent. One just need to guide them to create wonders.

Some of the finest performances according to me among those i have seen are..
Role-play of about women harassment: Role play is like this.
ganesha idol making with decorations  (this is my favorite)
Rangoli with Om in it..
Science experiments that explain about upcoming bus strategy, body function using tubes and empty toothpaste tubes, amusement park including hydrolic lift
several finest dance moves.

Lesson Learnt: There are many people in the world who are actually helping others but ignored by many others as negative spreads faster than positive, which is why most of the people thinks they are living in a society with full of bad people.

Learning from religion or many gods.

Why do we need gods? God is a superior human with great values, but we forgot that we all can't become superior human since superior human does not exist. superior human term is exaggeration of human. All humans are equal and we all have equal capacities. We can become gods by leading great life with high moral values, which can be learnt from gods. We can learn from Rama that we all can become Rama if we follows moral of life and believe that we should give importance to each and everything in the world. ex: Rama gave importance to his servant, his father, his mother, even he gave importance to a layman in his kingdom even though no one questioned. Even though he was superior to all people in his dynasty, he still followed principles and listened to everyone to learn from others. Hence he became god. He lead normal life and went to forest to support his father. Here he did not sacrifice anything, he was always happy as he listened to his soul and heart.

Let’s start now. We all try to learn the greatness of all our gods and try to incorporate the values in us. We can do this by changing our thought process.

If we lead our life by executing all actions as if god is watching us and react the same way as god does in every situation, then that is the great tribute all gods in the world.

Ex: We start thinking from god's prospective by probing following questions and follow the same path.

What god will do if he is in our place?
Will god deceive others for self-satisfaction?
Will god be happy if we scrutinize others or harming others?
Will god get angry if anyone scolds/abuse him?
Will god run away from parents?
Will god be selfish? Will god get irritate?
Will god lose self-confidence?
Will god be happy with others misery?
Will god expect something from others?

Will god run behind money?

Why we shout in Anger? --Courtesy fb post from some monk

"Why We Shout In Anger"

A Hindu saint who was visiting river Ganges to take bath found a group of family members on the banks, shouting in anger at each other. He turned to his disciples smiled 'n asked.

'Why do people shout in anger shout at each other?'

Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, 'Because we lose our calm, we shout.'

'But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner.' asked the saint

Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the other disciples.
Finally the saint explained, .

'When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other to cover that great distance.

What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is either nonexistent or very small...'

The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper 'n they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other 'n that's all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.'

He looked at his disciples 'n said.

'So when you argue do not let your hearts get distant, Do not say words that distance each other more, Or else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return.'

Heart touching story of Miss India.. Save girl child.. courtesy fb

True Story of Miss India 2009 - an inspiring story for everyone..!!

---(Miss India 2009 - Pooja Chopra) ---
--- Neera Chopra is her mother. This is her story.---

...Neera Chopra lived through abuse, poverty and some tough choices to make her once-unwanted girl child, Pooja Chopra,

--- Neera Chopras story:---

"I don’t know where to begin... they were terrible times. My husband was well-placed, but the marriage had begun to sink almost as soon as it began. Like most women do, I tried to work against all the odds .

My in-laws insisted everything would be alright if I had a son. My first child was a daughter, and that didn’t do me any good... but I couldn’t walk out. I had lost my father, my brother was in a not-so-senior position in Bata. I didn’t want to be a burden on my family and continued to live in my marital home in Kolkata.

I looked after my mother-inlaw, who was suffering from cancer, and while bathing her, I would tell myself she would bless me and put things right.

I don’t know how I tolerated it all. The least a man can do, if he must philander, is to not flaunt his women in his wife’s face. Then began the manhandling. I still wanted my marriage to survive. I was a pure vegetarian and learnt to cook non-vegetarian delicacies thinking it would please him.

Then, I was pregnant again. When Pooja was eight months in my womb, my husband brought a girl to the house and announced he would marry her. I thought of killing myself. I hung on the slight hope that if the baby was a boy, my marriage could be saved.

When Pooja was born a girl, for three days, nobody came to the hospital. There was a squadron leader’s wife on the opposite bed, who was kind enough to give me baby clothes for Pooja to wear. When she was 20 days old, I had to make a choice. I left the house with my girls ‘ Pooja and Shubra, who was seven then. I haven’t seen my husband since. I promised myself, even if we had just one roti, we would share it, but together.

I began life in Mumbai with the support of my mother, brother, who was by then married. It wasn’t the ideal situation, especially when he had children - space, money, everything was short. I began work at the Taj Colaba and got my own place. How did I manage? Truth be told, I would put a chatai on the floor, leave two glasses of milk and some food, and bolt the door from outside before going to work. I would leave the key with the neighbours and tell the kids to shout out to them when it was time to leave for school.

Their tiny hands would do homework on their own, feed themselves on days that I worked late. My elder daughter Shubhra would make Pooja do her corrections... This is how they grew up. At a birthday party, Pooja would not eat her piece of cake, but pack it and bring it home to share with her sister. When Shubhra started working, she would skip lunch and pack a chicken sandwich that she would slip in her sister’s lunchbox the next day.

I used to pray, ‘God, punish me for my karma, but not my innocent little kids. Please let me provide them the basics.’ I used to struggle for shoes, socks, uniforms. I was living in Bangur Nagar, Goregaon. Pooja would walk four bus stops down to the St Thomas
Academy . Then, too little to cross the road, she would ask a passerby to help her. I had to save the bus money to be able to put some milk in their bodies.

Life began to change when I got a job for Rs 6,000 at the then Goa Penta. Mr Chhabra, the owner, and his wife, were kind enough to provide a loan for me. I sent my daughters to my sister’s house in Pune, with my mother as support. I spent four years working in Goa while I saved to buy a small one-bedroom house in Pune (where the family still lives). I would work 16-18 hours a day, not even taking weekly offs to accumulate leave and visit my daughters three or four times a year.

Once I bought my house and found a job in Pune, life began to settle. I worked in Hotel Blue Diamond for a year and then finally joined Mainland China ‘ which changed my life. The consideration of the team and management brought me the stability to bring them up, despite late hours and the travelling a hotelier must do.

Shubhra got a job in Hotel Blue Diamond, being the youngest employee there while still in college, and managed to finish her Masters in commerce and her BBM. Today, she is married to a sweet Catholic boy who is in the Merchant Navy and has a sweet daughter.

I continue to finish my day job and come home and take tuitions, as I have done for all these years. I also do all my household chores myself.

Through the years, Shubhra has been my anchor and Pooja, the rock. Pooja’s tiny hands have wiped away my tears when I broke down. She has stood up for me, when I couldn’t speak for myself. Academically brilliant, she participated in all extra-curricular activities. When she needed high heels to model in, she did odd shows and bought them for herself.

When I saw Pooja give her speech on TV, I knew it came from her heart. I could see the twinkle in her eye. And I thought to myself as she won ‘My God, this is my little girl.’ God was trying to tell me something.

Today, I’ve no regrets. I believe every cloud has a silver lining. As a mother, I’ve done nothing great."

Pantaloons Femina Miss India Pooja Chopra’s mother promised, ‘One day, this girl will make me proud’.

Pooja speaks on fulfilling that promise... "When I was 20 days old, my mother was asked to make a choice. It was either me, a girl child, or her husband. She chose me. As she walked out she turned around and told her husband, ‘One day, this girl will make me proud’. That day has come. Her husband went on to marry a woman who gave him two sons. Today, as I stand here a Miss India, I don’t even know if my father knows that it is me, his daughter, who has set out to conquer the world, a crown on my head.

"Our lives have not been easy, least so for my mother. Financially, emotionally, she struggled to stay afloat, to keep her job and yet allow us to be the best that we could be. I was given only one condition when I started modelling ‘ my grades wouldn’t drop.

"All the girls in the pageant worked hard, but my edge was my mother’s sacrifice, her karma. Today, when people call to congratulate me, it’s not me they pay tribute to, but to her life and her struggle. She’s the true Woman of Substance. She is my light, my mentor, my driving force."

Save The Girl Child.......

Meditation says everyone is equal.. No one is superior or inferior

Real story:
We are living this so called world..
There ten people A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J.

Person A was suffered a lot due some other person, and couldn't control his emotion. He tried to control and showed a lot of patience but eventually after repeated incidents, he completely lost his control and unknowingly did a mistake by venting out all his anger on his wife B. B has suffered a lot mentally and one fine day vent out all her frustration to her daughter-in-law C. C could not tolerate and could not understand why her good mother-in-law suddenly changed and one fine day vented out all her anger on her husband D. D who has lot of patience and loves his wife most, he couldn't digest the fact that his wife had changed, one fine day he lost his patience and vent out his frustration on his sub-ordinate E. Same continues from E to his son F, from F to his girl friend G, G to her mother H, H to her husband I, I to his friend.
And the best part is no one was really wanted to hurt others willingly, they just vent out their frustration in one form or another and the victim of such situation caused trouble for others and cycle continues.
Why this happens? It is hard to believe that single reason beyond this is their incapability to handle the things in positive way. I agree that they worked hard and suffered a lot, they tried to do their best to control the situations but when things turned into worst, simply tried to push that pressure to some other person either hurting them mentally or physically or financially.
Another reason is A>B>C>D>E>F>G>H>I>J in their opinion. Because of that reason, they hesitate to share their problems with their family members and hate the fact that they are incapable handling such small things.
Best solution for this is treating all of them as equal and not to think that other family member as an object and it may hurt their emotions badly and can cause serious damage. So always be open and share your problems with your beloved ones and will surely reduce the pressure to a greater extent.
Open environment will always reduce the damage and close the gaps which were created.

Such open environment can be created only when people practice meditation. Meditation helps us in controlling emotions and leading a peaceful life when there is no comparison.

Mother is the best worker in the world.. No one can compete her

Why every person needs meditation?

A,B,C are thick friends.
A is honest and trustworthy, never did a mistake. B is dishonest, always covering up the things. C has high expectations on A while no expectations on B. One fine day due to some unforeseen circumstances A had to do something unexpected that ruined his relationship with C as C thinks that A had betrayed C while the truth is different. Even though the mistake is very minute one but because of heavy expectations that small thing changed perception of C. What worst is from then onward whatever happens C keeps on blaming A even though A never did that mistake. Finally A had to choose two ways, one is to obey and accept C is right or part from C.
Another part of the story is B knows how to cover up the things and created bad image about him to C and since C has  very least expectations on B, whenever B does small good things C's perception about B has started changing and continue to see only good things about B while continue to see only bad things about A.
this is called irony of life.
Same story can be observed in every relation of a human being.

Expectation of a human being is based on the three pillars; trust, dependency, admiration are the key factors play major role in any relationship. End result: no one is satisfied and no one is happy on the earth because mind influences reactions of human emotions. When mind is met with expectations it makes the person happier and when not it makes the person suffer.

Human beings will  never be satisfied and start complaining when his expectation does not meet as it is is a physical need. Physical needs always change as it has no boundary.
Meditation helps people to think rationally as expectations from others gets reduced and sometimes no expectations at all.  Meditation can change person's perception about the things what to expect and what not to expect and keeping cool and calm even when worst situations arise.

And to me a mother is a good meditation practitioner as she has enormous patience and do not expect anything from her kids in return. She knows only giving happiness to her kids. She will be happy when her kids are happy.

Insights about the suffering of visually challenged people to get scribes

Date: 08-Dec-2013

This is my first post in this blog.
I am writing this blog after I got to know the problems of visually challenged people to prepare exams, getting scribes and to clear the exams through a great person fb(Give hands to poor), even though he is younger than me.
Let me talk about him here, he is pursuing C.A. But his part time activity is to help the visually challenged people by conducting classes and arranging scribes to them. He has done a tremendous job in providing scribes to these students by contacting each and every individual in many NGOs using facebook and other social networking channels and overcame many challenges such as no access to internet, not having a PC or laptop, issues with old nokia mobile and at the same time managed his studies. His vision of helping all visually challenged people in every NGO needs a special mention. Not only that, he goes to the samarthanam NGO almost everyday to teach the aspiring students and help them recording their subjects.

Now to the actual topic.
I was not aware of the efforts made by the visually challenged people to prepare for the exam till I get to know from Srinivas.
Visually challenged students spend hours in recording the lessons dictated by volunteers and keep on listening to them for days to remember the contents. As they cannot read the books themselves, they seek support from volunteers. These students make strong bond with the volunteers in their heart as they cannot see them and believes them completely. They cannot tolerate the pain of  betrayal by the volunteers or others. It is very hard for them to adjust to new volunteer until they regain the lost confidence in people.
In our world many students complain that they do not have enough resources or teacher is bad or not getting enough time. But these students do not have the option. They have to struggle a lot to recognize the voice of new volunteer and record voices , replay the audio to remember.
Another challenge is, after all their hard work in studies, to get a scribe to write the exams on their behalf.
Pain is more when the volunteer who promised to the visually challenged person drops out in the last minute.
